Weingut Franz Keller Eichberg GG Spätburgunder VDP

Weingut Franz Keller

Franz Keller, located in Germany's Baden region, is a renowned producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the area and throughout Germany. As a member of the VDP, the winery is also a prestigious Gault&Millau four-grape winery. The estate also owens a Michelin one-star restaurant, and operates a wine trading business specializing in Bordeaux and Burgundy. This unique combination makes Franz Keller wines exceptionally food-friendly, with a style that reflects French elegance. The entry-level range features dry, crisp, and fruit-forward wines, while the mid-to-higher-tier offerings complexity, minerality, concentration, and structure. The winery has practiced organic viticulture since 2021, and wines will gradually receive organic certification starting with the 2024 vintage.

Region :  Baden

Grapes : Pinot Noir
Taste : Aromas of ripe dark fruits—black cherry and black plum—intertwine with hints of red berry notes, all framed by an elegant touch of toasty oak. On the palate, delightful cherry-cake flavors (both spicy and fruity) are supported by a fine tannic structure, making this Pinot Noir remarkably compelling. The finish is long, dry, and marked by a distinct mineral edge. Approachable now, it will be at its best from 2027.
