FREDERIC MAGNIEN
“I was impressed by the young Frédéric Magnien’s commitment to quality winemaking and his experimental, inquisitive mind. Readers should watch for this young man’s wines. [He] has the capacity and drive to be a future star.”
The Wine Advocate
Frédéric Magnien is a 5th generation winemaker from the Magnien family and has devoted himself to wine production since he helped his father, Michel Magnien, in the vineyards and cellars in high school. Many of the vineyards are certified organic, but all the sites are farmed using organic practices. Careful sorting of the grapes in both the vineyards and in the meticulously clean cellar further ensures the final high level of quality fruit. Frédéric’s wines seduce with deeply concentrated, lush, spicy fruits, and at the same time possess balance, length and breed . The perfumes and tastes of late summer are the signature of Magnien Burgundy: dark, ripe plums; sweet, concentrated blackberries; the cool, laurel-tinged air of the forest.
Region :Burgundy-Cote de Nuit
Grapes : Pinot Noir
Taste :Deep and full in color, with golden hues already emerging. The nose presents aromas of apple, pear, apricot, and butter, interwoven with delicate floral notes of hawthorn blossom. With some aeration, toasted hazelnut and a hint of sweet spice from vanilla slowly unfurl. The palate is rich and unctuous at the entry, with a honeyed texture, then gradually turns vibrant and fresh on the mid-palate, where well-judged acidity lifts the overall structure. The finish is marked by a clear, persistent minerality, with a refreshing touch of citrus zest, leaving a long and clean aftertaste.
