FREDERIC MAGNIEN
“I was impressed by the young Frédéric Magnien’s commitment to quality winemaking and his experimental, inquisitive mind. Readers should watch for this young man’s wines. [He] has the capacity and drive to be a future star.”
The Wine Advocate
Frédéric Magnien is a 5th generation winemaker from the Magnien family and has devoted himself to wine production since he helped his father, Michel Magnien, in the vineyards and cellars in high school. Many of the vineyards are certified organic, but all the sites are farmed using organic practices. Careful sorting of the grapes in both the vineyards and in the meticulously clean cellar further ensures the final high level of quality fruit. Frédéric’s wines seduce with deeply concentrated, lush, spicy fruits, and at the same time possess balance, length and breed . The perfumes and tastes of late summer are the signature of Magnien Burgundy: dark, ripe plums; sweet, concentrated blackberries; the cool, laurel-tinged air of the forest.
Region :Burgundy-Vosne-Romanee
Grapes : Pinot Noir
Taste : Bright ruby red in color, with violet hints at the rim. Intense and pure aromas of blackberry, raspberry, and plum, followed by the village's signature spicy notes, violet fragrance, and an underlying minerality from the soil. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a silky texture, fine and elegant tannins, and an interplay of black and red fruit flavors, leading to a firm and structured finish.
